The history behind the Queen Elizabeth II meeting room

The Queen Elizabeth II Room is one of two period rooms at Mary Sumner House, carefully preserved to maintain the original character and features of the building.

This distinguished space showcases a stunning glass chandelier, an elegant feature fireplace, and refined soft furnishings that create a warm, professional atmosphere. The room is ideal for interviews, training or planning sessions, high profile interviews and filming (subject to permission).

We offer refreshments such as tea, coffee, biscuits, and water at £6 (VAT inc.) per person and we also offer flexible catering options giving you the freedom to bring in your preferred caterers or we are happy to recommend our trusted caterers such as Spoilt for Choice or Sands Catering.

This set-up facilitates direct communication and is great for encouraging discussions and collaboration. The dedicated boardroom table creates a professional environment suitable for board discussions, interviews or any other meetings involving sharing ideas. The Queen Elizabeth II Room can accommodate a maximum of 16 people in a boardroom layout.

Meeting room technology

The room is equipped with a wall-mounted display screen and sound bar connected via an HDMI cable, which is included in the venue hire fee. Additionally, a portable Logitech video conferencing systems is available for hire, compatible with MS Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, WebEx, Cisco and other software providers. Our team are able to help you with any technical set-up to ensure you have everything you need for your meeting.
