Wangari Maathai was a Kenyan social, environmental and political activist who founded the Green Belt Movement in 1977, mobilising communities across Africa to plant trees and champion women’s rights. She made history in 2004 as the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize for her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace.

We offer unlimited refreshments such as tea, coffee, biscuits, and water at £6 (VAT inc.) per person and we also offer flexible catering options giving you the freedom to bring in your preferred caterers or we are happy to recommend our trusted caterers such as Spoilt for Choice or Sands Catering.

The theatre-style layout offers teams the chance to present ideas and focus on a few individual speakers. This layout is perfect for training sessions, team briefings, or workshops where knowledge sharing is key.

This set up facilitates direct communication and is great for encouraging discussions and collaboration. The dedicated boardroom table creates a professional environment suitable for board discussions, strategy sessions or any other meetings involving sharing ideas.
The Wangari Maathai Room can accommodate a maximum of 20 people in a boardroom layout.
The room is equipped with a wall-mounted display screen and sound bar connected via an HDMI cable, which is included in the venue hire fee. Additionally, a portable Logitech video conferencing systems is available for hire, compatible with MS Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, WebEx, Cisco and other software providers. Our team are able to help you with any technical set-up to ensure you have everything you need for your meeting.
