When corporate event planners begin their search for a venue, location is typically high on the priority list, alongside capacity, AV facilities, and catering. The right location signals prestige before a delegate even arrives, influences attendance rates, and sets the tone for the day. Location isn’t just a logistical decision; it’s a strategic one.
The value of a Central London location
A Central London venue offers unmatched connectivity, a prestigious setting, and high attendance rates. The Amex GBT 2026 Global Meetings and Events Forecast found that 85% of meeting professionals are optimistic about 2026, with memorable attendee experience remaining the top priority for a second consecutive year. And what better way to make your event memorable for guests than choosing an iconic Central London location, with world-class transport hubs, celebrated attractions, and inspiring architecture.
Why Westminster works for every delegate
Surrounded by excellent transport links, Westminster is accessible for both national and international guests. Most venues are within walking distance of major tube and rail stations, making it easy for guests travelling locally and from afar. There are plenty of bus routes serving the city, cycle docking points for those travelling by bike, and taxi ranks dotted across Westminster. For those travelling internationally, Westminster can be reached in under an hour from both London City Airport and London Heathrow Airport, making it the perfect base for hosting your next event.
What Westminster brings to a corporate event
The location of your corporate event makes more of a difference than you may think. Choosing a well-connected location not only increases attendance numbers for your event, but it also reduces stress for your attendees. Guests who’ve had a smooth, stress-free journey are more likely to arrive feeling positive about the event, leading to an elevated attendee experience. It also ensures that none of your attendees arrive late due to travel issues, which would cause disruptions to your event schedule.
A prestigious location like Westminster sets the tone for the day as soon as your guests arrive. They’ll be greeted by incredible landmarks, attractions, and rich history, including Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, and Westminster Abbey, all contributing to the sense of occasion and prestige you’ll experience when you set foot in the city.
How to choose the right Westminster venue for your event
From capacities to technical facilities and proximity to transport links, there are plenty of factors to consider when choosing a Westminster venue for your event.
- Capacity: confirm that the venue can accommodate your required capacity for the event, and that it offers the correct layout to suit the format of your event (boardroom, theatre-style, cabaret, reception, etc).
- AV and technical facilities: clarify whether audio-visual technology is already available at the venue, or whether it needs to be brought in externally. Even better if they have an in-house AV team to assist on the day of your event and ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Catering: check whether catering is handled in-house, or if you can bring in an external supplier. Historic venues often have approved supplier lists to preserve the venue, or venues like Mary Sumner House offer the freedom to bring in your preferred caterers.
- Proximity to transport links: event venues in Westminster are typically located within close proximity of major transport links, but it’s an essential factor to consider when choosing a venue. Delegates might be travelling from outside of London, and this could be the difference between whether they’re able to attend or not. You should also take into consideration international attendees, and whether the venue has good connections to the airports.
- The setting: does the building offer a sense of character to suit the occasion? How does the venue make the delegate feel upon arrival? Consider the objectives of the event and how you want your delegates to feel, ensuring your chosen venue can match the tone.
